"What you need to know about the New MVDA"
(Motor Vehicle Dealer Act)

Effective January 01, 2010, a new Motor Vehicle Act was passed into Law to protect you the consumer from those Dealers who quote or advertise misleading pricing. The new All-in Pricing regulations came into effect for All Ontario Auto and Motorcycle registered dealers. This new Law requires All Ontario registered Motor vehicle Dealers to include in quoted or advertised price ALL CHARGES a purchaser is required to pay including ( but not limited to ) administration fees, freight, pre-delivery fees, safety check or certification fees. Once the price has been established the Dealer can only charge Taxes and license. NOTHING MORE!

THESE ARE QUESTIONS YOU NEED TO ASK

1. Does price quoted conform with the MVDA as of JAN. 01 2010 ?
2. What OEM Programs am I the Purchaser entitled to with the advertised or quoted price?

3. If Financed Payments are advertised or quoted, ASK what the interest rate and term of loan are? Also be cautious of Low Monthly or By-Weekly payments offered by a Dealer unless OFFERED and BACKED by Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda or Kawasaki. You can verify the programs offered by visiting the OEM web sites.

   Finally,  ASK for a quote print out of the ALL-in TOTAL PRICE on their Quote invoice not something scribbled on the back of a buisness card. << If that Dealer won't offer you a TRUE TOTAL PRICE QUOTE in print than you must ASK WHY?  Also Read the Fine Print in the Ads and on Sales Contracts. Some Dealers are asking for a Deposit to complete a Fianance Contract. Why? It dosen't cost anything to quailfy you for a loan. If they insist on a Deposit make sure there is a clause in the Contract that states you will receive full refund of your deposit if the Dealer cannot provide the Vehicle you want or you are not happy with the Finance Deal or you simply want to cancel Deal.
